When browsing photography blogs recently, I noticed a trend for a particular candid style called Street Photography. It involves taking a snapshot of unsuspecting passers-by and trying to capture a slice of their life.
“Street photography is a type of documentary photography that features subjects in candid situations within public places such as streets, parks, beaches, malls, political conventions and other settings.” [Wikipedia – Street Photography]
On a recent trip to the seaside town of Howth, I thought I would attempt some street photography of my own, using dogs as my subject matter! Here are the best captures!
street photography is what its called eh? i never knew but I guess that would be my favorite style too. and Macro 🙂 love the puppy pics!
I didn’t know it was called that either! It was quite fun, but don’t think I have the courage to snap people. I’d be afraid I would annoy them!
Great job with your street photography. You really captured some great shots.
Thanks! 🙂
Puppy love . . . woof on those shots!
Glad you liked them! 🙂
Great shots! 🙂
Thanks 🙂
You got some good shots there – I especially like the one of the two dogs climbing up the rocks.
I like that one too! I had to zoom in a fair bit to get the shot, so it’s a bit grainy.
What you can’t see in the photo, is that the black and white dog had little pink bows on her ears. It was so cute, but I didn’t manage to get a shot of it! 🙂
What a great idea to use doggies for street photography. I was going to take part in a blogging thing once called 100 faces where you had to collect 100 photos of strangers & write a bit about each one but I felt too self conscious of trying to take people’s photos without them knowing
I felt the same about photographing people, which is why settled on photographing dogs! It’s become a hobby of mine now, and I’m building up a little collection. 🙂
The black poodle looks just like Dixie
