Statues and Carvings – Cee’s Photo Challenge

Fluffy Tufts is taking part in Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge! I am way behind with these, but I will keep plodding along exploring each theme as and when I can!

This time, the theme I am looking at is statues and carvings. I had a look through my back-catalogue and found a pair of animal statues. It is typical of me to always manage to find an animal when I am out and about, even if it is an inanimate one!

First, we have a beautiful wooden hand-carved owl. He can be seen perching in the victorian glasshouse at the Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin, Dublin. I like the contrast between the glass and metal of the glasshouse and the natural wood used for the carving.

Then, we have this little squirrel that I spotted on a trip to Dublin zoo. He was such a cute fellow surrounded by all the live animals at the zoo! I like the splash of green in the background as it helps to make the squirrel stand out.

Doggy Street Photography – Crufts Edition!

Welcome to the latest Doggy Street Photography post! This time I bring you the Crufts 2013 edition!

As many of you know, I had a brilliant day at Crufts last Saturday. Of course, I brought my camera with me and got lots of photos of unsuspecting dogs. It was a bit like shooting fish in a barrel as there were all sorts of dogs everywhere! I have narrowed them down to my favourite six, but keep on eye on the Fluffy Tufts Facebook page for more Crufts photos.

Which of these photos is your favourite? And can you spot the odd one out?!

Pets – Cee’s Photo Challenge

Fluffy Tufts is taking part in Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge! I am way behind with these, but I will keep plodding along exploring each theme as and when I can!

This time, the theme I am looking at is ‘Pets’. Given that Fluffy Tufts is mostly about my three dogs and two cats, I think my biggest challenge will be narrowing down my collection and choosing only a few!

Here is Jimmy the Maltese/Bichon cross getting down and dirty in Marlay Park, Dublin! I love the contrast between the brown leaves and earth and the white of Jimmy’s fur. I also really like the fact that the photo shows Jimmy in his element, mud and all!

Venus the rescue cat enjoying home comforts! Venus joined our household last September and made herself at home almost straightaway. She was abused and neglected before she was rescued by the DSPCA. Given her sad background, I am amazed at the trust she has placed in us. I love this shot of her as I took it not long after she arrived here and it indicated to me that she was settled and happy to be in our home.

Pogo the Poodle enjoying the sun.  I find it extremely difficult to get a decent shot of Pogo. He doesn’t keep still long enough! This photo captures a rare moment in which he is actually chilling out!

Orange – Cee’s Photo Challenge

Fluffy Tufts is taking part in Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge! I am way behind with these, but I will keep plodding along exploring each theme as and when I can!

This time, the theme I am looking at is ‘Orange’. I find orange to be a cheerful colour and also a warm colour. The winter days are drab and dreary here, so I hope these photos will add some warmth and happiness!
